Are you into running? Looking for an excuse to come to Costa Rica?
Consider participating in the 2015 Quepos Marathon next April in what is called “one of the most beautiful regions of the country.”
Organizers of the 42K race strongly believe that the conditions of the area, its tourism, its natural beauty and its people, make Manuel Antonio and Quepos a perfect destination to enjoy sports.
The 2014 Quepos Marathon took place last Saturday on April 26 with approximately 500 participants. The race started at the Marina Pez Vela at 5:00 AM in order to take advantage of the cooler temperatures of the early morning, and finished around 10:00 AM for the last runners.
In the women’s category, Gabriela Herrera Arroyo finished first with a time of 3:20:25, and Jonathan Varela Obando topped the men’s category with a time of 2:36:50.
The international participants in the race, as well as many of the Costa Rican athletes who came from out of town, stayed with us at Tulemar.
Julien Buralli, one of our concierges at Tulemar and also a sports enthusiast says, “A stay at Tulemar is a great choice for the pre-run mental conditioning runners are looking for. Our jungle bungalows, for example, offer beautiful ocean views surrounded by lush tropical flora. It’s a perfect choice for peace and relaxation. We all know the value of a good night’s sleep prior to any challenge, and Tulemar gives the athletes that and more.”
