In front of our offices here in Tulemar we recently had our version of a red carpet celebrity sighting.
This adolescent three-toed sloth decided to come down to the ground and he single handedly drained the camera batteries of dozens of visiting guests.
Sloths are most vulnerable to predators when they’re on the ground, so they only come down to do their “necessary business” – which they do only once or twice a week.
On this day, our fuzzy friend made an unscheduled touchdown when he lost his grip in the trees above and sort of slid down into a group of heliconias.
No worries, though. He stayed and posed for our cameras as if nothing out of the ordinary had occurred.
